For years many went to the Litchfield Steakhouse to fill up on steaks, burgers, and smothered burritos. With a brand new name, the old steakhouse has some swagger to it.
“It’s a confidence thing we want to persuade that with the steakhouse,” said owner Nathan Eckhout.
Nathan owned the Litchfield Steakhouse for about five years. He decided to leave Litchfield for a job as a food inspector in South Sioux City. A few months ago, he moved back to his loyal customers and the restaurant and renamed it the Swagger Saloon and Steakhouse.
“It was on the map before for having good food, good service and I wanted to bring that back to Litchfield,” he explained.
Diners load up on the smothered burritos on Wednesdays. There’s a buy one get one free burger night and also a mouth watering French dip.
“We stand behind our food and if you have a complaint, you tell us and we’ll make it right. Once you come, you’ll come back.”
A return visit is exactly what Nathan did and many are happy he’s back along with a new confidence and swagger to the restaurant.
“Nathan is a really good boss. I’m 63 years old. I’ve worked several places. I’ve been a
nurse. Nathan is by far the best boss I’ve ever had, easy going, very honest, treats everyone
respectfully,” said day cook Lynn Dixson.
A name change and fresh approach bring a new swagger to the steakhouse. Come in with an empty stomach and let the food do all the bragging and boasting.
